Kenso Seeds, a new business unit for Kenso Corporation, has commenced extensive field trials across South East Asia to develop a range of high quality hybrid seeds to provide benefits for local farmers and consumers. Kenso will develop and distribute specialty vegetable seeds in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia and eventually further afield. Currently under development are tomato, chilli, watermelon and onion varieties.
The Kenso Seeds division is managed by Mr Selvan Selvakumaran who has extensive knowledge of the seed industry. Selvan has the objective to bring the best quality seed varieties to Southeast Asian farmers to improve regional food security, yield and economic outcomes in line with the Kenso corporate mission: Better food and crop production for a growing population.
